Wedding Venue Preview — Chemeketa Eola

On Wednesday we made a trip to the Chemeketa-Eola Northwest Viticulture Center to check out the location for the wedding reception we’ll be photographing on June 30. We’ve driven past the place frequently on our trips from our house to our favorite photography store (Focal Point) in Dallas, but the only time we’ve stopped there before this it was raining so we didn’t get out of the car. This time we toured the whole place — and it’s a wonderful location for a reception! Beautiful views of the vineyard from the patio, colorful flowers and stonework on the front side of the center, and a lovely interior. We took the time to scout and test the lighting at several indoor and outdoor spots that will be perfect for portraits. The indoor reception area was just being set up for another event so we got a hint of how it will look for the event we’ll be photographing. We’re hoping for a repeat of the sunshine we had on the day we visited, but who knows if our Oregon weather will cooperate. We’re sure it’ll be a beautiful spot no matter what the weather.
